It's Not Right: Neighbours Friends and Families for Older Adults (INR-NFF)

Its Not Right

It’s Not Right – Neighbours Friends and Families for Older Adults is designed to educate and engage bystanders everywhere. The original It's Not Right project originated in Ontario and included a national training for elder abuse leaders and experts so that they were prepared to hold presentations in their own regions and communities.

Across Alberta, there are Community Presenters offering 1 – 2 hour presentations with an emphasis on teaching neighbours, friends and family members of seniors who may be experiencing abuse to recognize the warning signs and become aware of steps to help. Scenarios taken from life, with a range of possible responses, are included in the presentation to support the learning objectives.

The Train the Trainer workshop is an opportunity to develop Trainers across our Province to train new presenters for INR-NFF.

Our Values

Our belief is that no one organization has a broad enough scope to address the complex issue of elder abuse in its entirety. A truly effective community response involves many stakeholders working in collaboration.
