SOA Program provides individual and community-based supports to older adults who are experiencing harm in their family, intimate partner and/or other trusting relationships. The program focuses on increasing safety, support, social connection, and well-being for older adults, as well as engaging and educating the community regarding the issue of abuse of older adults.
Program Serves:
Individuals who are 60 years of age or older (or identify as an older adult) live in the Lloydminster and surrounding area, and are experiencing harm in a trusting relationship
Program Components
Consists of confidential, one-on-one sessions with older adults, providing personalized support and case management/coordination of community helpers, elder abuse information, learning activities, advocacy, safety planning and supported community referrals (financial support, housing, addictions support, counseling, legal advice, Living Well Program, etc.). This service is free of cost to the individual.
