What We’re Doing in Edmonton
The process used to develop the Edmonton response to elder abuse was one of building on previous community efforts and key community based recommendations. Since the mid 1980's many stakeholders have been involved in the development of the community response to elder abuse.
Seniors Abuse Help Line – 780-454-8888
A phone line answered 24 hours daily by trained volunteers at the Support Network, who provide confidential & anonymous support, information and referrals on elder abuse matters.
Edmonton Seniors Safe Housing – 780-702-1520
Free, safe housing for up to 60 days. Day staff provide information, support and assistance as needed, including finances, transportation, housing, life skills, etc.
Seniors Protection Partnership – 780-477-2929
Provides intervention, education, support & referral services for older adults who are at risk of or are experiencing elder abuse. Consultation is provided to others working with seniors experiencing abuse.
As a province-wide network of professionals working to increase community awareness, AEAAC is represented by communities across Alberta.
