What We're Doing in the Lethbridge Area

Lethbridge Elder Abuse Response Network – 403-320-2222
Lethbridge Elder Abuse Response Network (LEARN) is a collaboration of human services organizations helping to reduce elder abuse in the Lethbridge area by providing a collaborative community response through a network of professional senior serving organizations.

This is a project funded by Alberta Justice and Solicitor General

The Family Violence and Elder Abuse Prevention and Awareness Committee has a multi-faceted and pro-active approach to increasing awareness of family violence and elder abuse in the community. Membership on the Family Violence and Elder Abuse Prevention and Awareness Committee includes: Lethbridge police service community liaison unit, RCMP- Coaldale, Nord-bridge senior citizen organization, Lethbridge Housing Authority, Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee, Royal Bank-North Side, Lethbridge Family Services – Immigrant services, Alberta health service geriatric assessment and rehabilitation, Alberta health services home care- community paramedic, Alberta health services senior’s mental health outreach, Alzheimer’s society of Alberta, Grey Stoke Home Health, and LEARN.

Community LINKS is a visible, easily accessible information centre where individuals can obtain current and reliable information and referral to services, agencies and organizations in southwest Alberta.

Lethbridge Legal Guidance – 403-380-6338
Lethbridge Legal Guidance is a non-profit society providing free legal advice, information and education to Albertans who are not able to afford access to justice. Volunteer lawyers donate their professional time to meet with clients and provide legal advice, information and education.

Lethbridge Regional Police Service – Victim/Witness Services – 403-330-5023
Victim/Witness Services include Crisis Support Workers and “first responders” who provide support during the first few critical hours after a crime or tragic event. They also provide an essential link between the Police and victims and can provide information regarding the status of investigations, court cases and trial dispositions.

Lethbridge Family Services (LFS) Counselling, Education and Outreach – 403-327-5724
The Lethbridge Family Services Counselling Department offers a full continuum of services, providing individual, couple, family counselling and therapy groups. As part of the continuum of service, LFS offers presentations/workshops and personal growth groups on a variety of topics.

YWCA Harbour House (Lethbridge) – 403-320-1881 or Toll free 1-866-296-0447 (24 hour)
YWCA Harbour House is a 24-bed crisis unit for women and children who are involved in abusive relationships. Abuse may be domestic violence or sexual assault.
