CORE Alberta Elder Abuse
The CORE Elder Abuse Group invites individuals, organizations, and agencies to develop strategies to address elder abuse in the least intrusive but most effective way – respecting an older adult's rights while providing an appropriate level of support and care.

This group hosts several meetings and events during the year to discuss elder abuse trends and issues throughout our province. The group space contains various elder abuse resources, toolkits, and training materials, and group members are encouraged to post additional content, to start meaningful discussions in this space, and to attend our events.

The Alberta Elder Abuse Awareness Council operates under the Government of Alberta's coordinated community response (CCR) mandate to:

Facilitate coordinated, community-based responses to address elder abuse and neglect

Promote safe communities and prevent the abuse and neglect of older adults

Ensure CCR members have access to current, relevant training to support their work with older adults

Provide community education and training to raise awareness about elder abuse

Center the voices of older adults with lived experience in all aspects of CCR planning and response

Support individuals who have caused harm by offering referrals to appropriate services
