What we are doing in St. Albert:

St. Albert Seniors' Working Group, Elder Abuse Protocol Committee

The St. Albert Seniors' Working Group was formed in April 2008, as a result of a recommendation to reduce duplication and increase inter-agency cooperation in the community. The St. Albert Elder Abuse Protocol Committee was formed from this initiative, as one of three priorities to improve conditions for seniors in St. Albert.

St. Albert Elder Abuse Response

The St. Albert Elder Abuse Response is a coordinated network of organizations helping to reduce elder abuse in the St. Albert area by increasing education and effective response. The Elder Abuse Response Coordinator, provides elder abuse response services within the City of St. Albert and the surrounding area. The role includes:
Responding to calls and referrals
Case planning with trained responders
Referral to community supports
Training for Elder Abuse Responders
Development of process, protocols, reporting and evaluation
