Metis Elder Abuse Awareness Program - Grande Prairie

Posted in Your Best Practices & Community Activities

Metis Local 1990 of Grande Prairie has been working to raise awareness and provide support for those affected by Elder Abuse in 30 Metis Communities.  Their goal is to ensure the long-term support for Metis Elders, develop English and Cree culturally appropriate materials and train service providers.

Focus groups are on the horizon and a traditional tea is used as the platform to engage Elders.
